Well, we are just over a month into the new year. Have you managed to keep your New Years Resolutions? ‘Make 2014 Your Best Year Ever’ from USA Weekend Magazine Dec 27 edition talks about how to keep your resolutions, since 92% of the population don’t. Here are a few of their suggestions…
If you resolve to Lose Weight, it suggests to set your alarm. Who would have thought? A study of 300 women at Brigham University shows that those with a consistent sleep schedule had lower body fat. Also, have a protein packed breakfast. A study for the Obesity Society showed that those women who ate a protein packed breakfast had curbed hunger throughout the morning. Might I suggest Shaklee 180. … With 16 grams of protein (mix alone) it is a great way to start off your day and get those cravings under control first thing!
If you are looking to be More Fit they suggest sort bursts of activity. The American College of Sports Medicine predicts that this will be the top trend for fitness for 2014. This type of workout is traditionally called HIIT High Intensity Interval Training. Shaklee 180 was already ahead of the game by offering Burst fitness workouts to all Shaklee 180 kit members. This includes the app workouts on your phone to curb excuses and a fitness tracker to see how far you have come.
If you resolved to Eat Healthier? Eliminate fake transfats. These do nothing good for you and many bad things, like increasing heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes risks. Like so many other labeling regulation issue, companies can say that it is 0 transfats when it is. 5 or below per serving. So sneaky! Until the government gets their act together you are going to have to just check the labels for partially hydrogenated oil all by yourself. Sadly this is true for so many things. Take supplements for example. They are not regulated at all. Shaklee is by far the healthier option here. To learn more about our values, read here. Read up and be informed!
The last resolution it talked about was Reducing Stress. I suggest leaving it all behind and becoming a beach bum in Tahiti. But the Medical University in Vienna suggests you hug a loved one, it boosts oxytocin. I like that idea, too. And it is a bit more realistic. Shaklee does have a Stress Relief Complex and I will say it was very helpful for my anxiety and stress for exams.
So how are you doing on your New Years Resolutions? If you are already part of the 92% who probably won’t make it, try a few of these ideas out.
Be part of the 8% who make it this year. #MakeItStick
