My neighbor gave me this recipe to use for our bumper crop of Tomato’s. I am not sure of it’s original origin but it’s fantastic and quickly became a family favorite.

Ok, so the other night my husband and I were sitting in the family room watching TV-nothing exciting there. BUT I kept hearing this scratching sound and I feared the worst, that there were critters in our walls of our newly decorated family room. My brave husband dismissed the critter idea and went out to investigate and there he found our Trapped Turtle. Continue reading →
A few of you have asked about the alfalfa Curt and I are taking for our allergies, so I figured I’d send a mass message out to everyone with the information in case anyone is interested. We both had experienced pretty bad seasonal allergies, itchy eyes, throat irritation, stuffy noses, etc. Last year Curt had so many problems, he ended up with 2 sinus infections (with 2 rounds of strong antibiotics) due to the allergies. We were both taking Singular, Claritin, and Nasonex Nasal Spray. Then when Brooke had a persistent cough before she Continue reading →
It is that time of year again; sitting outside in the sun with a good book and a glass of X,Y or Z. The warmer temps bring up the Sun protection is an issue. Although, it is still important any day of there year at home & vacation destinations . It was not long ago that I used to have my kids stand like a starfish so I could spray them down with Sunblock. It was not hugely effective so I had to constantly reapply and go broke in the process since that stuff costs a mint- not to mention all the bad stuff they were inhaling from the airborn application. Like with everything else I am learning, so here is what I have learned… Continue reading →
Earth Day is April 22 so we took a trip to the SOCCRA center.

I have had it! I cannot take it any more. The mess. The inability to find anything which inevitably leads to us running late for church or school or anywhere that actually has a start time.
It is the hair drawer dilemma. This is the drawer in the kids bathroom that houses the hair accessories and brushes for my daughters.
I have come to realize that I can’t do it alone (actually I don’t want to) OR maybe I am trying to teach my children to be proud of what they have and they should take care of it. Yes, go with that one, sounds better than ‘moms just had it!’
Here is what it looked like before…..

Really embarrassing I know! Now the work in progress….
In the LIMELIGHT today is Performance.
Just got a great testimonial from a C-1 competitive canoeist, first time Performance user.
Hi Doug,
Back in town.
Awesome spring training camp. I paddled my a$$ off. We did over 120 miles of intense river training.
One 44 mile long run I used Gatorade as my fuel. It was a 5.5 hour paddle. I got dehydrated at 4 hours. 2 electrolyte pills and an Advil and I recovered in 15 minutes.
My arms are heavy, muscles sore. We paddled 5 days straight. It was like racing every day.
I used Shaklee for the next long run. Had no problems – stayed hydrated. I will need to get more Shaklee from you for certain.
I am racing the C-1 pro race in New York May 28th. It is a 70 mile race – 6-8 hour paddle time.
I think Shaklee should sponsor me.Joseph M. Roman, ALA, NCARB
Our Sports Nutrition Line is fantastic! Here is another testimonial for our LIMELIGHT today.
Kimberly,
Thanks for introducing me to the Shaklee Energy Chews. I ran out after the marathon. Due to recovery time, and no chews, most of my runs were very sluggish feeling.
I received my own Shaklee order last week, right in time for my weekend long run. I finally was able to run more than nine miles since the marathon (11 1/2)! My two long and mid-distance runs felt so much better. I felt I was able to get back into my previous rhythm. Ah…feels good to feel good again when running.
Anyhoo, my short note of thanks/testimonial,
Jen
